The Elizabeth Shawl Crochet Pattern

Spring is finally here!!! Which means that I can finally start designing some lacy and breezy garments once more! I was having designers block for a few months, but i’m finally at the point where I am feeling inspired and motivated again!

Now i’m normally not one to make a Shawl, however, I have been watching a LOT of When Calls The Heart and they have the prettiest shawls (and clothing in general) and i finally was inspired to make one!

Yarn OverBoard Podcast Episode 2

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the second episode of the Yarn OverBoard a Crochet Podcast!

I had so much fun with the first podcast episode and I couldn’t wait to jump into making more and talk to more of the hard working and inspiring makers in the community.

Yarn OverBoard Podcast Episode 1

Hello Everyone!

Today I am super thrilled to share with you the first ever episode of the Yarn OverBoard Podcast!

This year a main of mine has been to learn, not just within crochet but also learn more about myself and different areas of life that i’ve never quite had the time or energy to focus on.

Another goal of mine is to be more active in getting to know the other makers in the Crochet and Fiber Arts Community, so i figured what better way to learn and open up conversation with other creative minds than with a podcast?

So today we have a very special guest, Harrison Richards, founder and owner of Furls Crochet! If you don’t know about Furls, don’t worry, you are definitely going to know all about them after this episode! You can also check out some of their social media links below as well!

Top 10 Tips for New Crocheters

Have you recently started crocheting and feel like chucking your work in the bin because you just don’t think you can get the hang of it? Well don’t aim for the trash can just yet!

Now I don’t consider myself to “know it all” when it comes to crochet by any means, I am still learning every day and probably will be till the end of time. In fact I actually gave up trying to learn how to crochet, probably, 3 times before I finally had the motivation to stick with it. Since then I have been crocheting for about 5 or 6 years and I would like to think that I have come a long way and learned a lot since then!

Lion Brand Touch of Merino Yarn Review

So I have two main goals for this year as of now, 1) Do more yarn reviews and 2) Complete other designers patterns more often. In this review I am doing both of those things! In one of my previous reviews, I decided to post pictures of a completed projected made with the yarn being reviewed and people seemed to enjoy that concept, so I am going to try to continue doing that!

King Cole Big Value Chunky Review

Naturally, reviewing yarns is fun because it’s really kind of an excuse to try a bunch of new yarns (and feel a little less bad about buying so much). Additionally, part of the fun of shopping online for yarn is trying to find more “obscure” brands of yarn to try every now and then. In reality i’m sure the brands aren’t really that obscure, but some of them don’t seem to be as well known in the US.
